Dear Angela
Thank you for teaching us soft ball. You are the best softball teacher ever and I love all the games we played. The game I liked the most is when you need to throw the ball and the other person needs to hit the ball with a bat then you need to go to the back of the line and let the other person have a go at everything as well or they would be sad . I think the other kids don’t won’t you to leave either. Next term please don’t make it way out at the back of the field because it is tiring.

WOW! we got play dough
On an absolutely windy Saturday Dan and my brother George and I walked to the warehouse to get some play dough . We got our own box of play dough. When we left the warehouse we had to walk home in the very strong wind . When we got home we played with our play dough. Next we packed it away. Soon we played in our room. We also changed our room around and our toys. When we walked to bed I watched Shorts. The next day we all walked to the dairy to get heaps of lollies. My favourite part was changing our room.

We are learning abot maori legends. We wrote a recount of the legend Maui and the sun.
Maui and the sun.
A long time ago a brave man called Maui lived on a Island
On those Island lots of other people lived with Maui and also on that Island the sun went to fast the lades had no time to weave
the men had no time to fish and hunt and most of all the
children had no time to play what were they going to do.
Maui really wanted to slow the sun so he thought
Of a plan then he got it he gathered all of his brothers and
The strongest men of the tribe then he asked the ladies
to make a strong rope that will hold the strength of the fast sun . After that he prayed that they will do the job he needed them to do. When they were ready they set of. It was a long way but soon they felt hot under ground so they knew that they were nearly there. Finally they got there. They put a net over the hole that the sun came out of then they built walls to hide behind.
While the sun came up Maui was as still as a tuatara.
After Maui told his brothers to throw the ropes over the sun
They beat the sun and pulled at the ropes and the sun
moaned and groaned and that is how we get summer and winter.

Maui and the Sun Stories. As part of our Maori unit this term we have read Maori legends.
Maui and the sun
Once upon a time there were five boys eating their food and the sun is started to go too fast. Maui saw the sun race across the sky very fast and the boys didn’t get time to fish and eat their food. Maui told his brothers to make flax ropes. When the flax ropes were finished the brothers walked across to where the sun stays. The brother threw their ropes at the sun and the sun started to cry. The brother got time to fish and eat their food and they lived happily ever after.

The Kath Bee show
On a foggy Monday we walked to the Kath Bee show I was excited. First we sat down in a line. Next she sang One thing and Dragons under my bed. After that we sang a Maori hello song.
Some children got balloons and they made animals out of balloons. Later we had lunch.
My favourite part was singing Dragons under my bed.

Science Alive visit
On a rainy Monday Room 15 went to the space odyssey. We had to run to the library it was so wet. Then we walked to the stations. First I looked at the pictures of the stars next I looked at how we have day and night. After that I looked at the things that we are allowed to have on the moon. The last thing I did is see how the craters are made on the moon. My favourite part is seeing what you are allowed to have on the mood.

Science Alive visit
On Monday Room 15 went to Science Alive.
It was a rainy Monday so room 15 needed to run because it was pouring down with rain and we ran really fast so the rain couldn’t get us. Then Anna walked out and she said to us come in and we got to see a big T.V . She showed us a picture. First she showed us a picture of the Earth then we went to our stations. I was in Katie’s mums group we put the planets in the right order and I got to put Saturn and Venus on to the clothes line. Saturn was really heavy for me.
Then we went to the next stations. So we quietly crept to the next stations. Second I was at Liam’s dad’s group we got a pencil and we got to make a moon booklet then we got to feel some sand from the moon.
